Julie specializes in Benefit Enrollment and Counseling when assisting Simplifi HR Solution clients. She is a senior level Human Resource Manager with over 18 years experience in staffing, professional employer services and human resource consulting companies. Her strengths consist of client service, employee training and new employee orientation programs. This also includes collaborating with clients to assess and implement training, organizational development, and performance management programs, processes, and initiatives that will enhance individual, group, and organizational potential.
Julie graduated with a BA with honors in Interpersonal/Public Communications from Northern Illinois University.

Joan Costello

Joan has over 12 years experience as a Certified Human Resource Professional, and 9 years in banking management. Joan is committed to assisting Simplifi HR Solutions clients by focusing on her strengths in customer service, employee relations, recruiting and HRIS Administration.
Joan graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Delaware and continued her HR studies at The Ohio State University and Franklin University. She also has a certification as Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR).

Cherese is a devoted Senior Human Resource Manager/ HR Consultant with Simplifi HR Solutions with over 9 years experience specializing in HRIS/HR Technology, human resource audits, process documentation and benefits administration. In her many years in the HR world she has also developed strong skills in HR administration, recruiting and on-boarding.
Cherese has her BA in Psychology from Case Western Reserve University, MS in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Capella University, is a licensed Insurance Agent and has her PHR.
Sonya Merriman
Senior HR Manager/ Consultant
Sonya Merriman is a Senior Human Resource Manager for Simplifi HR Solutions. She has over 28 years in the Healthcare industry and 16 plus years in Human Resources. Sonya has extensive experience in recruitment, employee relations, employee development, HRIS, payroll, benefits and FMLA. Sonya is passionate about helping Simplifi HR Solutions clients make the most of their resources and talent and helping individuals make the most of their chosen career path.
Sonya has several certificates in FMLA and BWC and has attended various pertinent seminars over the years. In addition, she has a medical assistant degree from Bryman School of Nursing and Medical Assisting.
Sandy Sanese
Director of Business Development
Sandy is in marketing and business development for Simplifi HR Solutions with 23 years experience. While having an extensive background in food service from Corporate Chef, managing executive dining for a major corporation in the Columbus area, she then expanded the dining/vending and catering divisions of a privately held food service corporation for several years. Having an interest in Human Resources, her career path led her to an outsourcing firm where she developed relationships with clients for Professional Employer Services, Human Capital Consulting and Technology Solutions. Her Human Resource experience includes training in crucial conversations, crucial confrontations, file management, recruiting, strategic planning, worker’s compensation, HRMS and general human resource issues. She also served on several non profit boards in event planning and fund raising capacities, believing strongly in “giving back”.
Sandy has a BA in Human Ecology from Ohio Dominican College and completed graduate work in Business Administration at Ashland University.
Michael Van Voorhis
Senior HR Manager/ Consultant
Michael is an experienced Senior HR professional with Simplifi HR Solutions with over 25 years experience.
He is highly proficient in developing and implementing innovative recruitment and retention strategies, researching and implementing Human Resource Information Systems, managing employee relations, and employee benefit administration analysis.
Michael earned is BS in Marketing from Franklin University and his Associate Degree in Human Resource Management from Columbus State Community College.
Julie Hurt
Senior HR Manager/ Payroll Manager
Julie is a results oriented professional with 30 years of progressively responsible experience in Administrative and Corporate environments. She has a proven track record of forging positive relationships throughout all organizational levels. Her areas of expertise are in HRIS management, payroll system management and administration, workers compensation with an extensive background in safety training, and other HR Generalist responsibilities. Prior to joining Simplifi HR Solutions, Julie held senior HR positions with 2 privately owned manufacturers in northeast Ohio. She developed and implemented training and new hire orientation programs, quality measurements, and acted as the OSHA compliance and safety chairperson. Julie is an expert in computer operations and has developed and implemented several accounting, job estimating and other daily use software programs.
Julie holds an Associates Degree in Computer Programming from Marion Technical College.
Kim Gales
HR Manager/Consultant
Kimberly Gales is a multi-faceted HR professional with over 15+ years experience in her field. Her experience includes working with clients in numerous industries such as conference and entertainment, executive recruiting firms, public libraries and retail.
Kim’s strengths include employee relations, program design, training and development, performance management coaching, diversity training and implementation and benefit administration.
She has developed course requirements, redesigned performance management process, timelines and forms and a chairperson and facilitator for numerous councils and boards throughout her career.
Kim has a Masters in Library and Information Science and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration–Human Resource Management.
